AIGA Get Out the Vote: Empowering the Women’s Vote.

2020 marks the centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote in 1920. It was the first legislation for women’s voting rights. Not until the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965 were voting rights of ALL women protected and enforced.

This poster is inspired by one of Jenny Holzer's Truisms: "All things are delicately interconnected." We must realize that our vote isn’t just a vote, it’s the continuation of a longer struggle our suffragette sisters have started in 1848. We have always been facing violence, discrimination, racial inequality, struggle to access health services and affordable child care. These issues are interconnected, and we must vote to raise our voice and demand better conditions—as all self-identified women.
